He is the author and co-author of 350 lectures, 51 scientific publications and four textbooks and treatises used both at home and abroad. He lectures at the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles’ University, Prague and has worked on four grants in the area of transplantation and inheritable diseases of the cornea.
Doc.MUDr.Drahomíra Baráková,CSc.

MUDr. Petr Bedřich

In 1983, after graduating from the Faculty of General Medicine at the Charles University in Prague, MUDr. Petr Bedřich took up a position at the 2nd Eye Clinic of the Teaching Hospital in Prague. After completing 1st and 2nd degree certificates in the field of ophthalmology, he concentrated on vitreoretinal problems and operations on the anterior segment of the eye. In 1986, he graduated from a research fellowship at the IKEM Diabetes Centre. In 1989, he passed a course in the health problems of the tropics organised by the ILF. In 1991, he was appointed as a consultant to a professional team looking after the health of the Czech Republic's president. In the course of 1993, he finished a research fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. In 1996, he was appointed registrar at the Eye Clinic in the Hradec Králové Teaching Hospital. In 1999, he joined the children's eye clinic in the Motol Teaching Hospital in Prague as a professional assistant. He has been working in the Lexum Eye Clinic since 2000.
He is the co-author of several papers and lectures, primarily concerning vitreoretinal problems. He is a specialist in diseases of the anterior segment of the eye and surgical solutions, particularly of the ocular complications of diabetes.
He is a member of the Czech Ophthalmological Society, the Czech Medical Association of JEP and a founding member of the Czech Vitreoretinal Society.
MUDr. František Benda
Ostrava
MUDr. František Benda finished his studies at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the Charles’ University, Prague.
Following his graduation in 1997 he worked at the eye department in the Ostrava City Hospital, where he was engaged in vitreoretinal surgery (surgery on the retina and vitreous humour), microsurgery for cataracts, laser treatment of eye complications due to diabetes, laser treatment for glaucoma, retinopathy for premature babies, blockage of the lacrimal ducts in children and disorders in the lacrimal film.
In 2000 he acquired his 1st certificate and in 2004 2nd degree in the field of ophthalmology.
MUDr. Benda graduated from a fellowship at the Eye Clinic of the ÚVN (the Central Military Hospital) Prague – Střešovice and the Eye Clinic at the FN (University Hospital) Královské Vinohrady specialising in surgery of the posterior segment. His lecture activities concern the problem of polypseudophakia, induced astigmatism and vitreoretinal problems.
MUDr. František Benda is a member of the Czech Ophthalmological Society and the Czech Vitreoretinal Society.
MUDr. Vladimír Chodura
České Budějovice
MUDr. Vladimír Chodura studied at the Faculty of General Medicine at the Charles University in Pilsen. After completing his studies, he began working as an ophthalmologist at the hospital in České Budějovice. In 1997, he attained a 1st degree certificate in postgraduate studies in the field of ophthalmology. He specialises in glaucomatology and the Sicca Syndrome. In 2002, he graduated from a research fellowship at the Erasmus MC Eye Clinic in Rotterdam, Holland. His lecture activities include several lectures and original papers in a professional magazine.
MUDr. Vladimír Chodura is a member of the Czech Society of Ophthalmology (CSO), the Czech Glaucoma Society, the Czech Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery (CRSCS), the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) and the Czech Medical Chamber.
MUDr. Martin Choleva

MUDr. Martin Choleva studied at the Medical Faculty of the Palacký University in Olomouc from 1983-1989. After graduating in 1989, he joined the eye department in Nový Jičín. In 1992, he passed the certificate in ophthalmology.
MUDr. Martin Choleva has been engaged in operating on cataracts since 1994. In 2002 and 2003, he assisted in developing and carrying out preclinical trials for the firm Oertli (Switzerland) with a device for cold phacoemulsification. In 2003, he lectured on this theme at the DOC congress in Nuremberg and the ESCRS in Munich and repeatedly in the Czech Republic (CR). He is the author of the chapter on Microincision Surgery for Cataracts in the publication Trendy soudobé oftalmologie (Trends in Current Ophthalmology) ( 2005 ). In 2004, he helped introduce phacoemulsification as a contemporary method for operating on cataracts at the eye clinic in Ashkhabad, Turkmenistan. Since 1996, he has headed the consultancy for diagnosing and treating eye complications of diabetes at the eye department in Nový Jičín. He trains users from all over the CR in how to operate the apparatus for tomography of the intraocular structures. He gives regular lectures on the theme of laser scanning tomography.
MUDr. Martin Choleva has graduated from fellowships at the eye clinics in Hospital San Joao in Porto Portugal (1988), in AKH Wien (phacoemulsification, 1993), Krankenhaus Lainz Wien (phacoemulsification, 1993), in Innsbruck (a week's course in eye microsurgery, 1995), in Ljubljana (phacoemulsification, 1998) and the eye clinic in Heidelberg (special examination methods in ophthalmology, 2000). He has undergone short-term fellowships focussing on eye microsurgery under Prof. Rozsíval in Hradec Králové, under Prof. Černák in Bratislava, Prof. Izák in Banská Bystrice, Registrar Mazal in Mladá Boleslav and Registrar Stodůlka in Zlín. Every year he participates in the congresses of the European Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and all of the well-known professional ophthalmological seminars and congresses in the Czech Republic.
Since 1993, he has also worked part time as the director and medical advisor to the firm Askin & Co. He is a member of the Czech Ophthalmological Society and the Czech Medical Chamber.
 MUDr. Ivan Fišer

MUDr. Ivan Fišer graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine in Prague in 1985. From 1985-1991, he worked at the eye department of the hospital in Kladno. In 1993, he gained a 1st degree certificate and in 1995 a 2nd degree certificate. From 1991-1993, he held the position of secondary doctor, he became registrar in 1993, and since 1995 he has been the head of the Vitreoretinal Department at the Ophthalmological Clinic of the 3rd Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Vinohrady. Since 1988, he has been engaged in work on diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, gaining experience in research fellowships both at home and abroad, for instance at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, at the Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, or the Montefiore Eye Hospital in New York.
He has lectured and taught as a professional assistant at the 3rd Medical Faculty and in the Institute for the Further Education of Doctors and Pharmacologists since 2000 and in the Lions Education Centre since 2002. He regularly gives courses during the congresses of the Czech Vitreoretinal Society and practical clinical microsurgery courses.
MUDr. Fišer specialises in diseases of the retina and vitreous humour. He carries out conservative, laser, surgical and combined treatment of diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration and vascular diseases of the retina. He has taken part in three international clinical studies on new drugs for this disease. He performs operations on detached retinas, the ocular complications of diabetes, dislocated lenses, the epiretinal membrane, macular holes, heavy intraocular infections, ocular injuries and opacity in the vitreous humour arising from various reasons.
He is a member of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně, the Czech Ophthalmological Society, vice-president of the Czech Vitreoretinal Society and a member of the European Vitreoretinal Society in which he is the delegate of the Czech Republic and a member of the grant commission.
MUDr. Ivan Fišer has co-authored five text books and scientific monographs and is the author of 17 publications both at home and abroad. He has given more than 130 lectures at congresses, symposiums and seminars in the Czech Republic and abroad.
 MUDr. Daša Györgyová

MUDr. Daša Györgyová studied medicine at the 1st Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague, graduating in 2002. She obtained a 1st degree certificate in the field of ophthalmology at the start of 2005.
From 2002-2005, she worked at the eye department of the Central Military Hospital, where, in 2004, she helped develop the Refractive and Laser Centre. Here she was involved in examining and preparing patients before refractive surgery. She also specialises in treating and diagnosing retinal diseases - OCT.
In 2001, she completed a, IFMSA professional research fellowship at the Hospital da Universidade de Coimbra in Portugal.

 MUDr.Alena Holubová

 MUDr.Ludmila Mázik

MUDr. Ludmila Mázik is a member of a Czech Ophthalmologic Society, Czech Medical Chamber J.E.P., and the Czech contactologic Society. She is the author and co-author of number scientific papers concerning telemedicine, diagnostics of diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.
 Prof. MUDr. Pavel Rozsíval, CSc.

MUDr. Pavel Rozsíval obtained his university degree in 1974. In 1979, he achieved his doctorate after giving his Viva Voce on A New Method for Determining the Inflow of Intraocular Fluid. In 1991, he defended his inaugural dissertation at the Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Hradec Králové on the theme Experimental and Clinical Research into Glaucoma. In 1996, he was appointed professor of Ophthalmology at the Charles University; his professorial lecture was on the theme The Intraocular Lens.
From 1974-1984, he worked at the Department of Ophthalmology of the Medical Faculty at the Charles University in Hradec Králové. Subsequently, from 1984-1986, he worked as the registrar of the eye department at the OÚNZ in Teplice, and later, from 1986-1993, he worked as the registrar of the eye clinic at the 1st Medical Faculty KNsP type III in Ústí nad Labem. From 1993 until the present, he has served as chief physician of the Eye Clinic and Department of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of the Charles University in Hradec Králové.
Prof. Rozsíval is an erudite ophthalmologist who has carried out more than 20,000 intraocular operations and over 6,000 refractive treatments. He is a well-known expert not just here in the Czech Republic but also abroad, which is testified to by his long list of publications and lectures. He is the author or co-author of more than 300 professional papers and has given over 700 lectures at domestic and international symposiums.
He was assessed by the International Biographical Centre, England, as one of the Outstanding People of the 20th Century and received a Decree of Merit from this institute for his exceptional achievements in advancing medicine. He is listed in several editions of Who is Who in the World. He has graduated from numerous foreign fellowships and study stays in Europe, the USA and Asia. In the framework of foreign symposiums, he is called upon as a lecturer and as an instructor in training courses primarily concerning cataract and refractive surgery. Since 1997, he has held the position of chairman of the board of the Ophthalmological Society of J. E. Purkyně. He serves on the scientific councils of the Medical Faculty at the Charles University in Hradec Králové and the Czech Ministry of Health, and is a member of the American Society on Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the European Glaucoma Society, and others.
Prof. Rozsíval is a researcher and co-researcher for several grant projects. His work has been repeatedly awarded with prizes from professional societies both here and abroad. He is the author of 8 grant proposals. He has worked in a number of professional companies and commissions, was a long-term member of the editorial college of the Abstracts Selection from Ophthalmology and is a member of the editorial board of the magazine Česká a Slovenská oftalmologie (Czech and Slovak Ophthalmology).
 MUDr.Hana Schwarzová

MUDr. Urania Tavandzi

MUDr. Tavandzi graduated in 1994 at the Faculty of general medicine at the Palacký University in Olomouc. In 1997 she obtained her 1st certification and her 2nd degree in the field of ophthalmology. Since her graduation until 2006 she worked at the Eye Clinic at the Olomouc University Hospital and the Faculty of the Medicine of the Palacký University in Olomouc (FN a LF UP Olomouc).
Doctor Tavandzi is a specialist in the field of refractive disorders and corneal transplantation, she is also engaged in cataract surgery. In her work at the Academy of Sciences she is engaged in corneal transplantation for scientific purposes, primarily aimed at the new procedures, technologies and trends in this important area, e.g. transplanting lumbar cells.
She is a member of the Czech Ophthalmological Society, the Czech Transplant Society, the Czech Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology and the Czech Medical Chamber.
Since 1998 MUDr. Tavandzi has been teaching at the Faculty of General Medicine, she is engaged in lecturing and publishing activities. She is a co-director of a grant from the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic – the problem of corneal xenotransplantation.
